EEA nationals If you are a national of the European Economic area you will be able to reside in the UK so long as you are exercising your Treaty Rights. This means that provided you are a job seeker, employed, self-employed, self-sufficient or a student, you will be exercising your Treaty Rights in the UK and thus legally entitled to reside here so long as you do so. In the event you are a national of the European Economic Area, you do not require a document other than your passport to enter and reside in the UK. However, experience shoes that employers are frequently used to seeing a residence card or residence document and intern wish to see something other than a passport as evidence of ones right to reside in the UK.
